Obama Needs to Choose Between Hillary and Egypt

It’s a matter of public record that Hillary Clinton considers Hosni Mubarak “a close family friend.” Maybe that clouded her judgment when she arrogantly proclaimed that Egypt had a stable government that answers to the needs of the people. She didn’t get Tunis right and she’s all over the map with Egypt. If she can’t put aside her personal affections for the thieving billionaire pharaoh, she should just step aside.

One has to wonder why Hillary is straining herself to accelerate America’s declining reputation and influence in the region.  The Independent of London has just reported that Frank Weisner, Obama’s ‘envoy’ to Mubarak was “employed by an American lobbying and law firm, Patton Boggs, which works for the Mubarak regime and several leading Egyptian commercial families”.  If Hillary was aware of that conflict of interest, she needs to resign immediately. If she didn’t know, she needs to resign anyway after explaining why Citizen Weisner was hand-picked to negotiate an ‘orderly transition’ with a dictator he still does business with.

Unless Clinton is completely untutored in the Middle East, she had to know Weisner’s pedigree. The Weisner clan has a family tradition of supporting Middle Eastern Tyrants. His father, Frank Weisner Senior, was the Directorate of Plans at the CIA and was instrumental in supporting pro-American forces that toppled Mohammed Mossadegh in 1953. Weisner Senior replaced Mossadegh with the Shah and we all know how that little episode ended.

Two weeks into the Egyptian uprising, Hillary is sending out confusing messages and the bill for her follies has been picked up by the 300 plus Egyptians who have so far perished at the hands of Mubarak’s thugs.

Let’s be very clear about what every policy maker knows about Hillary’s family friend. First off, Mubarak is a multi-billionaire – which is hard to explain given that the ailing dictator’s only legitimate source of income is his government paycheck. He’s a thug who has administered a police state for three decades. He’s an arsonist who recently disbanded his police force and opened the prison gates to create enough chaos to justify a curfew. He’s a gangster whose ruling party raised an army of hired goons to attack peaceful demonstrators. He’s a censor who unplugged the entire country from the internet and encouraged his security forces to assault foreign journalists so his state owned media could control the message. He’s a compulsive liar who promised the Egyptian people that he would only serve two terms but ended up lording over them for five consecutive terms. I could add more to his resume – but that’s a fair enough portrayal of Hillary’s family friend.

There is one other thing about Mubarak that’s worth mentioning – his people hate him.

It’s time for Obama to get a grip. He can’t be for Hillary and the Egyptian people. The president needs to make a choice. Egyptians are intent on taking control of their own destiny and Hillary appears to be out of control. Obama says one thing – Hillary says another. It’s not that Egyptians are going to wait for Americans to make up their minds. They know that Mubarak was a useful American ‘asset.’ They know that the United States is trying to come up with a ‘Plan B’ to accommodate their unscheduled uprising. And from where they stand in Tahrir Square, Hillary’s new policy is to ease out the old dictator and keep the dictatorship in place. That’s not going to happen. Egyptians have finally inhaled the sweet scent of liberty and they have paid for it in blood. I don’t think that message has gotten through to Hillary. Egyptians don’t just want to be free of their dictators – they want zero American meddling in their affairs. Americans have a history in this region and it’s not something they should boast about and it’s not something they should want to repeat.

What Hillary is attempting to do is abort the Egyptian revolution.  If she fails, they’ll be a price to be paid. Egyptians are going to remember the forces that stood against their struggle for liberty. If she succeeds, the price will be unbearable. The level of repression the regime will dole out to its adversaries will be something on the order of Pinochet’s Chile. But the response to repression will be radicalization in the entire region and Obama better get the CIA on the phone and get a little ‘blow-back’ assessment before he signs off on Hillary’s plan. That should be enough rope to reign in Hillary for having such nasty family friends.

    The Independent article by Robert Fisk is here.

    ‘But it is inconceivable Hillary Clinton did not know of his employment by a company that works for the very dictator which Mr Wisner now defends in the face of a massive democratic opposition in Egypt.’

    ‘Mr Wisner joined Patton Boggs almost two years ago – more than enough time for both the White House and the State Department to learn of his company’s intimate connections with the Mubarak regime. The New York Times ran a glowing profile of Mr Wisner in its pages two weeks ago – but mysteriously did not mention his ties to Egypt.’

    Hillary’s support for Mubarak is part and parcel of the longstanding US policy in the Middle East. It is to maintain US control of this strategic area by continuing to support dictators, like Mubarak, who have been dedicated to serve US and Israeli interests. Hence, the current support, by Obama and Hillary, for Suleiman to take over from Mubarak, is a continuation of this stand, and Suleiman has shown consistently his loyalty to America and Israel.

    The US emphasis on the need to continue to control the Middle East was clearly affirmed in the statement by President Dwight Eisenhower, who stated in 1956: ” The Middle East is one of the most important strategic areas in the world, and no foreign power [meaning outside the US] should be allowed to control it.” And this policy continues to this day.

    Contrary to the Iranian traitors who are eager to limit Egyptian protests against Zionism/imperialism to “economic”, Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya gives more accurate picture of the situation:

    {When protests started in Egypt, the heads of the Egyptian military all went to the U.S. and consulted with U.S. officials for orders. The Egyptians are well aware that the regime in Cairo is a pawn in the services of the U.S. and Israel. This is why Egyptian slogans are not only directed against the Mubarak regime but are also aimed against the U.S. and Israel, in similarity to some of the slogans of the Iranian Revolution. The U.S. has been involved in every aspect of the Egyptian government’s activities. Cairo has not made a single move without consulting both the White House and Tel Aviv. Israel has also permitted the Egyptian military to move into urban areas in the Sinai Peninsula.

    Martin Indyk, a former Clinton Administration official at the U.S. National Security Council with an area of responsible for the Middle East and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict and an individual closely tied to the Obama Administration, told the New York Times that the U.S. must work towards bringing the Egyptian military towards the control of Egypt until a “moderate and legitimate political leadership can emerge”. [1] Not only did Indyk call for a military takeover in Egypt, he also used U.S. State Department double-speak. What U.S. officials mean by “moderate” are dictatorships and regimes like Saudi Arabia, the U.A.E., Jordan, Morocco, and Ben Ali’s Tunisia. As for legitimacy, in the eyes of U.S. officials, it means individuals who will serve U.S. interests.

    Tel Aviv is far less coy than the U.S. about the situation in Egypt. Out of fear of losing Cairo, Tel Aviv has been encouraging the Mubarak regime to unleash the full force of the Egyptian military on the civilian protesters. They have also been defending Mubarak internationally. In this regard, the Egyptian military’s primary role has always been to police the Egyptian people and to keep the Mubarak regime in power. U.S. military aid to Egypt is solely intended for this purpose.

    If the Egyptian people manage to establish a new and truly sovereign government, it would equate to a second Iran in the Middle East. This would cause a major regional and global geo-political shift. It would also deeply upset and cripple the interests of the U.S., Britain, Israel, France, the E.U., and NATO in what would amount to a colossal loss, like that of Iran in 1979.}
    Down with the pseudo left in the region and abroad.

    Israel is freaked out and spread the rumor that there is protests in Sudan and Syria, US and Israel are looking for chaos in Sudan and Syria to implement their ODED YINON STRATEGY and partition these countries, but they were not successful. The protest in Sudan and Syria was HOAX and constructed by the Zionist media. The people in Iran and around the world are supporting Egyptian struggle against Zionism/imperialism and neoliberal usury economic system have taken billions of people as its victim. People around the world are against The WORLD GOVERNMENT, directed by the Zionist plutocracy.

    The fact of the matter is that the Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt has a long history of dealing and wheeling with the CIA and MI5.
    The British and the Royal Family of Egypt helped create and nuture the Muslim Brotherhood in 1928 as a counter measure against the nationalist movevment in Egypt , especially after the victory of the communists in Russia and the fear of spreading their ideas to the “near by” Middle East.
    Since the Islamists are fiercely hostile to the atheist infidel communists, who don’t believe in “God” the CIA and MI5 used all Islamist group including the Ayatolahs and Mulahs as an ally in the cold war and barrier against the spread of communism in the Middle East.
    They used the Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt in persistent attempts to topple Nasser of Egypt and the same in Syria.
    The relation produced a sweet fruit using the Islamists including Al-Kaida and Ossama Ben Laden in the War in Afghanistan against the Russians.
    After the collapse of the Soviet Union some of these Islamist groups fell out of favor and were told to beat it and take a hike after they thought they would take over in their countries as a reward for their services. That is why the problems with Ben Laden if he is still alive which I doubt it.
    The US is pushing hard right now to include the Muslim Brotherhood in any political arrangement that come out of the current situation which means the Muslim Brotherhood will definitely take over since they are the only well funded and well organised political group in Egypt, and that is why the insistence on this democracy and freedom mumbo jumbo& bullshitting. Democracy will not work in Egypt and that is a fact.

    Thousands still in Liberation Square 15 days since the start of the protests.

    Mass protests continue in Egypt

    Pro-democracy supporters hold fresh rallies in Cairo, just hours after the release of a detained Google executive.

    Al Jazeera’s Sherine Tadros reports on the camaraderie and community inside Tahrir Square in central Cairo (video)

    Protesters in the Egyptian capital are holding mass demonstrations, with a new wave of optimism reaching the pro-democracy camp following the release of the detained cyber activist, Wael Ghonim.

    As demonstrations seeking an immediate end to Hosni Mubarak’s rule enter their 15th day, protesters – set up in makeshift tents in central Cairo’s Tahrir [Liberation] Square – are refusing to leave until their demands are met.

    In a bid to counter the political challenge, the government offered on Monday a pay rise to public-sector workers, but the pro-democracy camp feels the government has conceded little ground in trying to end the current crisis.

    “[The pay rise] doesn’t mean anything,” Sherif Zein, a protester at Tahrir Square told Al Jazeera on Tuesday. “Maybe it will be a short-term release for the workers … but most of the people will realise what this is, it’s just a tablet of asprin, but it’s nothing meaningful.”

    Zein said protesters had called for mass demonstrations and he believed the crowds of Egyptians would not let them down.

    Are Israel and US going to occupy Egypt to apply ODED YINON STRATEGY – partition of Arab East to serve Israel’s interest in the region, “greater Israel” – with the leadership of a butcher and a torturer, Omar Suleiman?
    According to the latest News:

    {A senior member of the US Marine corps is telling people “multiple platoons” are deploying to Egypt, a source tells us.
    This senior Marine told our source that the Pentagon will deploy “multiple platoons” to Egypt over the next few days and that the official reason will be ‘to assist in the evacuation of US citizens.”
    Our source was told that “the chances they were going over there went from 70% yesterday to 100% today.”

    We’re keeping these people anonymous because both would get in trouble for sharing this information with the press.}

    Now, Omar Suleiman (Suleimn = Soloman which is a Hebrew name) has

    been placed on the throne by Israel and US, they have created an

    opportunity to implement Oded Yinon Strategy (zionist strategy for dividing the Arab East) to protect the interest of the Judeofascists in Israel.
    As Hassan Nafaa has written:

    {Yinon’s paper leaves one in no doubt that the Zionist movement approaches the Arab East — Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq — differently from the rest of the Arab and Islamic world. The Zionist movement is generally interested in dividing other Arab world countries for security-related and economic reasons. But its interest in the Arab East runs deeper. So the Zionist project is not just about dividing the Arab East or redrawing its map. It is about geographical expansion within that area. The Zionists want to seize and colonise more land in the Arab East as a prelude to annexing that land to the Jewish state. More specifically, they wish to introduce major demographic changes involving forcible displacement of the population.}

    When are American people going to wake up? Why don’t you protest in LARGE NUMBER to bring your corrupt government DOWN? Why do you cooperate with zionists/imperialists and their servants to oppress and kill Mulsims all over the world?

    Are Egyptian people going to be silent when Obama, a zionist stooge, install a murderer and a torturer, Omar Suleiman, as the leader of Egypt because Israel prefers a zionist servant? Is Obama going to continue to serve Israel’s interest instead of American’s interest? Are the zionist stooges at the state department, WH going to put a kinfe on Egyptian people’s back?

    People of Egypt must continue their protest until Mubarak and Israel servants around him are removed from the power and Egpytian people assume into the street and bring US/Israel servant down and make it clear to the Clowns, black and white, that Egypt belong to Egypt not America or Israel. Egyptian people should not trust Obama. He is a liar. He lies all the time to serve the zionist’s interest.

    ‘Israel preferred Suleiman as Mubarak’s successor’

    {Newly leaked US diplomatic cables suggest that Egypt’s Vice President Omar Suleiman was long seen by Israel as the preferred candidate to succeed Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

    According to a 2008 cable released by WikiLeaks, and published on the Daily Telegraphweb site Monday, a senior adviser from the Defense Ministry told US diplomats in Tel Aviv that the Israelis believe Suleiman would likely serve as “at least an interim president if Mubarak dies or is incapacitated.”}

    The answer to these questions are “YES”.

    50% of all political campaign contributions to the Democratic Party comes from Zionist sources. When it comes to foreign policy there is no more “American” policy.
