First Encounter with Culler Lake
by Scott Thomas Outlar / October 8th, 2023
a bit tired
a bit strung-out
a bit hungry –
all the obligatory laments
of a man without home
yet, I have one (infinite/eternal)
safe haven
in
any spot on earth
but especially the space
where the goose honks
or the owl hoots
or we find silence
and call it comfort
now I will see you (reveal/unveil)
in a way
that is not a burden
but a blessing
of light unto the world
(or even just a dark room
filled with trauma)
