Gun Control USA

Arm every man, woman and child—
Make us gunmen, gun women and children;
Strap every school kid with a gun belt—
Extra gun and clips in backpacks; make them
Study stand your ground; and
Teach to the test on target ranges;
Celebrate10-ring shooters of the year—
and encourage cool clothing with
Logos of gun manufacturers!

Make every teacher
professor and preacher
Carry a sidearm—
Every super, bus driver,
train operator, crane operator,
construction worker, warehouse
worker—radio programmer,
TV anchor, weather person,
camera person strapped…

Make every mortician, massage therapist,
plumber, dentist, surgeon show up strapped—
Every bartender, chef, waiter, dishwasher;
Every mayor, pimp, prostitute packing—
Every barber, salon stylist, podiatrist,
every basketball player, football player,
flight attendant, pianist, saxophonist,
guitarist with guns openly dis-
played—settle disputes with weapons—
Bring back duels, gunfights in corrals and
bars—with sarsaparilla, syphilis, stage-
coaches, telegraphs and Pony Express—
Imagine principals calling parents
and saying: “Ma’m, I’m so sorry to
report, your child was killed in
an after school duel—
Land of the Gun, Home of the Bullet…”
