VJ Day 2015

70 years after VJ Day
The Nazis have won
My Dad is crying in Heaven:

Why did my Marine Corps Buddies and I
Fight and Die
At Saipan and Tinian and Okinawa
Me becoming a lawyer after the war

Only to see our children and grandchildren
Behave like a Gang of Nazis rampaging all over the world
In the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America

And set up an American police state at Home
U. S “homeland” my Wild Irish Ass!
The Nazis had their “homeland” too
Lebensraum three
Now just like we
In the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America

My oldest son and namesake
Is doing the best he can stop these American Nazis
So they put him on all their Nazi terrorist watch lists
Good for him!
I’m proud of him!
You know a man by his enemies!

For me it was the Japanese Imperial Army
At Saipan and Tinian and Okinawa
For my son it is these American Nazis Abroad
And in their Police State at Home
My Wild Irish Ass their Nazi American “homeland”

Just like Orwell’s 1984
War is Peace
Freedom is Slavery
Ignorance is Strength
We all love Big Brother
You can watch Him on the Tube 24/7

The United States of America
RIP: 1776-2016?
240 years
Just a blip on the screen of history
The real End of History

Author’s Note:  I have written the following poem in honor of the 70th anniversary of the end to World War II next week on September 3, 2015.

University of Illinois Law Professor Francis A. Boyle served as Legal Advisor to the Palestine Liberation Organization on the 1988 Palestinian Declaration of Independence; to the Palestinian Delegation to the Middle East Peace Negotiations from 1991 to 1993; and to H.E. Chairman and President Yasser Arafat. The story is told in his book Palestine, Palestinians and International Law (Clarity Press: 2003). He can be reached at: FBOYLE@LAW.UIUC.EDU.
