calendar pages are turned
clocks move forward then
alarms sound
sun rise
sun set
night falls
dawn provides an opportunity for change

pages of life are turned
dreams are encouraged
hope trickles from a stream to an ocean then
alarms sound
obstacles rise
reality sets
night falls
dawn provides an opportunity for change

pages highlighting inequalities in life are turned
alarms sound
the haves rise
systemic boundaries set
the have nots contained
dawn provides an opportunity for change
