Darkening Skies

(for the forgotten 99%)

Darkening skies
Distant thunder nears
Winds create waves at the tops of trees
Looking upward
Thoughts become dreams
Peace on earth
Good will toward all

A flash of lightning
A clap of thunder
Eyes open
The horizon in view
Reality

An ominous cloud
Formed from political fallout
Creates a greater need for

Food
Shelter
Health
Safety
Acceptance
Love
Freedom from fear
Freedom want

Darker skies form
As the base of Maslow’s hierarchy overflows and
Dreams become nightmares
