Oblivion

Well, James, you didn’t handle
that one too cleverly.
Now we have Jenrick and Badenoch.
The worst of a bad bunch.
So roll on the rise of the rabid right.
Valiant warriors one and all!
Proudly now they march;
into the sleepy balms of oblivion.

Stuart McFarlane has spent many years, both abroad and in the UK, teaching English. In the UK this mainly involved teaching Esol to refugees and asylum seekers. He is now semi-retired and so can devote more time to writing poetry.
