Bespoke

To spokes unspoken (Photo: Faye Sarras)

Side by side, stone by stone
Rolled beneath rough regions
Earth hardened, from the sea hewn
From the past into present illusion.
From hubs to spokes unspoken
Turns to wear, sounds to hear
Cracking works of brick and tile
Stopped for rest to lean unbroken
