Warming to the Warning
by Henry Bladon / November 7th, 2021
The weather map is
an angry shade of crimson,
the radio is playing songs
about the sun (George Harrison, take a bow)
bare-chested men walk
alongside short-skirted girls
as babies in hats are
pushed towards the beach.
It’s summer in Technicolor, they say,
have a doze on the sand.
Enjoy it while you can.
