Separate Islands, Same Map
by Scott Thomas Outlar / July 4th, 2021
overly critical
seeking dominion
and control over forces
better left
to mother nature
red pulse exits darkness
blue shimmering ocean breathes its way
into existence
you cannot possess the stars
or the first hint of light
from a rising dawn
but you might taste
its wet-lipped kiss
on your corona
if you’re lucky
release into the space
where synchronicity meets
intuition
and realize this moment
is all there is to experience
ever was, ever will be
instinctual
liquidity
of oneness
shattered shards
spark
individuation
while morning birds call life
to attention
