An Island in the Jetstream

(for R delicately)

In mist and vapour

Perched upon an ancient cloud
By sunbeams drawn
above the crowd
Sensitive and solitary
still unshaken
though some dreams
still awaken
all uncertainty and fear
that good sense
should overcome.
Holding tightly
in mist and vapour
bearing wind and rain
though by faith
above suspended
in truth the heart
’tis by love defended.
