We, The People
by Chrissie Morris Brady / July 3rd, 2016
Democracy is happening in the House,
A sit-in to demand what the people want.
We, the people.
Remember us?
The Speaker says it’s a publicity stunt.
Asking for what most of the people want?
Remember us?
We, the people.
We, the people, are sick of gun deaths
Gun control is needed, we demand it.
Death at any moment by a bullet
Is not the way we want to live.
Democracy is alive and well when a sit in
Happens in the House, demanding to be heard
We, the people.
Remember us?
