Enjoying the Obvious

So let us discuss quietly what
is happening: Capitalism is
eating its young, burning down

the laws of nature, instigating
death-for-profit around the world
and celebrating its destruction

in bold proclamations for all to
see and hear. Remain calm, no
need to shout, go about your

business; it will all work out in
the end, which, at some point,
will likely be the end of us all.

In the meantime, let’s enjoy
the spectacle; read the books
and watch the movies that

actually preview our demise
in high-octane, bloody detail,
delighting in graphic violence

and gore our final exit. Who
could ever have imagined
extinction being so much fun?
