Assumption: “The Saddest Century”

Oh, virtually travelling Life,
You are not what you are.

You are the sarcastic-spark
Or, the heartless fleeting-river
Of this saddest century.
You travel the world wearing other’s
Eyes, sick-posts or delusional-paradigms,
To know my thoughts, heart and its revolts.

Do you know how to explain
‘Stability,’ ‘agony,’ ‘trust’ and ‘respect’?
Did you ever cry vertically
And horizontally in reverse gear?

You are free to live with your new new happiness!

Precious partner, leave me alone . . .

Or, block me or anchor me, forever . . .
In your galactic heart with an infinite kiss.

I am the lonely rebel, I am the Sunlight.
I am the lonely rebel-lion of the rebellion.
I have an unending obligation to this planet
And its poor and vulnerable Earthlings.

Oh, laments of the elements,
I’m by patriotic passions daily bound.
Oh, immortal-oblivion,
Stay with the elements, forever.

No mind at tranquility
In this universe of Maya or Illusion.

If re-form happens, a lifelessness I long.
Or,
Earth, devour senses in my eternal sleep.

But, like the rebellious Arab Spring,
Come, my beloved Spring,
The stable and the brave lioness
Of the rebellion.
Come soon, rain over my heart like monsoon.
Recharge the rebel-lion in me.
Be the online-and-offline wine of oldest-truth.
Give me a piece of a very last thunder
Or a fearless sword of a truthful-
Revolution.

Because,
Trumps and NaMos
Are the terror designing terrible-twins,
The political-cats and political-rats
Or,
The growing antonyms of the Earth!

Sanju Clement is a Promethean—poet—painter who hails from Kerala (India), land of gods, devils and monsoon too. His poetic and artistic invention is that he starts from the zonal heights of the light of Metaphorical Surrealism but he will land on the realistic feet of Metaphorical Realism, which truthfully mirrors in almost all of his poems and paintings. He is compiling his books of poesy on Love and Political/Protest poems. Read other articles by Sanju.
