Doxology

(Songs of praise for the complacent)

In the pudding
lies the proof.
where in hell
lies the truth?
Journalist, scholar
or the Washington Post
Father, Son
and Langley’s ghost.
Knowledge
from Eden’s soil
unroot,
evidence
from the serpent wrought
hypotheses with theories bought.
Escaping facts
annihilating
Holding faith
expiating
Writhing in truth’s
fading light
with Adam
godless in the night
for Eve’s brief love
in fruit purloined
analysis stripped
thought enjoined.
Doxology sung
for fear of silence
Methodology praised
for love of violence.
