Written in the Rain
by Douglas Smith / March 4th, 2018
To taste ecstasy
I mumble words
Effervescent
I spray rhymes
across the sky
In subdued light
a rainbow shimmers
Obscured by cloud
the sun gleams like
a patch of vitiligo
Weary of motion
water turns to ice
Upon my palm
a snowflake
bursts into tears
Written in the rain
my poem is a blur
