I saw you

There are buildings, and there are people
And there are old wars

I serve no institution I can name, but I saw
You today

And I thought of buildings and people and
Old wars

The germans have my condolences in my
Heart, but that’s only because I drink

De Valera, and my collective soul

Which makes me wonder about yours, while
I try to to be free

How can we all be free together? Whilst still
Calling for space.

We need something old, but to nurture it
In modernity

This too is already an old idea

But my point is, I saw you today
And I can’t fight for the space for you

In this modern world
