Aleppo today
by Jonathan Beale / September 25th, 2016
The thick blood red cross
Of need
In the hospitals Aleppo
To the bone
Whistling wings of a blind god’s arrow
Sawing through
Blood and adrenalin pumps
Some children
Have only ever known
Amongst dust
The relentless angular barrage
Another image
A bombarded boy look out –and why
Unable to know
And why would he, how could he?
This will be
History one day – one day
When that
War machine finds another home
