Sonnet No. 6…Clattering world, now the scuffle of shock

Clattering world, now the scuffle of shock
heaps suffering angels upon the pyre
Roll away in the theatre of warplay
dazzled by odium in marches of night
Infants easily let go of their lives,
confusing their blankets with body bags
Mothers are raped, the world’s tumbling down
Swallow your TV stuck on Grand Guignol

Chaos ensues, like the end of the world
Bodies are sullied, eyes torn from sockets,
like marbles they roll in the muck and dust
Hatred reigns, those who are left are bereft
and shuddering in cold devastation
Flesh hides in a hole, no bearing, no road
