Borne across high ranges (Photo Faye Sarras)
Beyond the dragon silver,
Beneath the yellow peaks,
Sweetness ripens yearly.
Flowers blush to cheeks.
Borne across high ranges,
grasses, windblown sands,
arrives the tender fruit
through Persia‘s distant lands.
Wei Santang is a scholar born and educated in the Far West in the second half of the 20th century. Faye Sarras teaches English and records the activities of plants from the mountains to the garden to the kitchen.
