Arithmetical Anathema

I receive the email
the profits are down
and there will be
no quarterly bonus.

They want me out.
All my top sales people
have gradually
been reassigned
and I’ve been given
the latest hires
who have no sale contacts.

I call a team meeting.
The fifteen plaques
on my office wall
as top salesman of the year
confirm,
I still have a multitude of contacts
and these computer savvy people
want to make money.
