Who knows when seeds were sown
Trodden into receptive soil
How much Heaven cried
Dragon‘s breath was blown?
Were anger and sorrow aerated
Ploughing bare with temper tried
Until stems and buds erupted
Bursting brilliance uncorrupted.

Wei Santang is a scholar born and educated in the Far West in the second half of the 20th century.
