It’s as if we were designed
To process books
Read and learn, or
Go on an adventure
To foreign lands and times
Trusting in the author to deliver
Fuel for the imagination
Exercising our full potential
Books after books
Settling in on a cold day
With a good book, and
Your cat on your lap…
Now, mass media
Has taken that away
No time to read
Instant news 24/7
Matter of fact
No more romantic adventures
In book land
Libraries becoming insignificant
In these neo-liberal days
Book burning and book banning
Fast becoming targets
To those of us who still read them
Going backwards, ignorant,
Not knowing those same books
Can be found on line…lol
Dangerous mentality
Has been seen before
By men in brown shirts
