Moondrops

Hangs from heaven’s cheek (Photo:  Dr. T. P.  Wilkinson)

Another year, a lunar tear
hangs from heaven’s cheek
Waiting worries the weaver girl
She sadly wipes her face
Pastures below painted green
hide the lad so lonely
Where the moonlight dims
Sentiment leaves no trace
There love cannot be seen.
