Borne bravely upon the stage (Pula, Istria)

Sleek the feathers polished shine
Borne bravely upon the stage
Meek the fondness to love expanded
Pledged immodest at young age
Torn the breast where it was captured
By weathered pain, by withheld tears
Yearning southward, burning inward
Two swords, two deaths, too fears.
