The Face of Freedom

Freedom has a dignified grace
Impervious to brash protest.
Just because we think we can,
‘Doesn’t always mean we should,
Lest freedom lie awake in haste.

Freedom has its cost, and there’s
An exorbitant price we must pay.
Just because we think we can,
‘Doesn’t always mean we should,
Lest all reason seemingly is lost.

Freedom has the most endearing
Face, maybe even gullible at best.
Just because we think we can,
‘Doesn’t always mean we should,
Lest we sadly end this human race

Which I dost protest, for good!
