A Pig’s Tale

Look into my eyes
What do you see?
A creation like you
Longing to be free
Are you able to see my plight?
Resigned to my fate
Without a fight

Isolated with purpose
So you cannot hear
My loud squeals
Never reach your ears
My home a jail
Full of filth and fear
Echoing cries
Beyond your ears

Look into my eyes
Do you dare?
Tell me the truth
Have you compassion to spare?
Piggy,Piggy,Piggy
Shouts of derision
Don’t utter my name!
Some ignorant childish game

Day after day
Marching to slaughter
My death assured
Fear beyond measure

Look into my eyes
What will it be?
Sausage, bacon or ham
That’s not really me
Filth and dead flesh
Is what you eat
I’m not responsible
Disease causing meat

Look into my eyes
Unconditional love
You will find
Created from love
