lash back against the night inside

lash back against the night inside
winding beneath my toes

not from above
not brackish
but divine
the deeper river
streams under my cheeks

black water floods me down
shaping me a crown from seeds
wasp gall palisades
blood coronet
river maiden with your lamp
ballast me with your hair
mortise and tenon your teeth
hoist me in the deep

floating rib
show me the great white wall
coral eyes
naked skin
stretching down to the bottom of the oarloop
