Homecoming
by J.S. O’Keefe / November 16th, 2025
every now and then life throws down
never a warning just a boom
it flips on a snap in the wake of blunder
but then again
my kind get caught off guard
when the world tilts fast
should know by now nice don’t last
the storm rolls
the truth gets bent
long words long sentences spin sideways
and at the end
aforementioned life scoops you up
didn’t see the red flags
is the reason I landed back in cage
gotta adjust now ride the waves
stay calm and navigate
seek support from wise inmates
and figure out how to create a home
of my new cell in the old slammer
