Tremors

fragile times
living in a maze of not knowing and ignoring
we slowfoot the day and the year
deprived of rest at night

most choose no resistance
always counting on better coming next
they opine
every dust storm runs out of gusts
why not remain cheek by jowl
in peace

inaction’s the ticket to statistical survival
smarter than jumping heedlessly
in the cauldron of perpetual combat

common logic that is

it may not work
