Untold Stories

Bit by bit
There is composure
But when the flash floods
Created a nervous panic
Somewhere else crackling
Fires lit the sky
I bowed to Mother Earth
Reverentially, prayed that
She must not destroy lands,
Quake the earth and curtail
The running spree of landslides
It is anathema to the purpose of life
Which is, living humanely under
Canopied skies, but these conflagrations
Erupt into cloudburst, flash floods
Into brazen disasters, the man made
Ones are good enough, for a broken
Gaza to tell untold stories of cataclysm
