Ocracies

What for a good Autocracy?
Unrestricted possibilities
for the dictator in charge.

With the position comes
power for light or dark.
Total power. Lights out.

No opposition on benches;
collective in totalism.
All bowing. All nodding.

Human desperation
crammed on dinghies
Life jackets. No jackets.

Religions put in camps
to concentrate the mind.
Rights taken. Life taken.

Human chess pieces
placed on borders
Your move. Citizen roulette.

Democracies look on
playing politics with sanctions.
All words. No actions.
