Now two countries

Counter attack
All this took place
Within ten days
Each country
Claiming they had won
Is this a game
Game changers
Ask for peace
In the search for
A volatile cease fire.
INDIA my land
What troubles you
Why are you so restless
Why do borders trouble you
Don’t we live in a border less world
Come let us touch blue mountains
Again, jagged skies dotted with hills
Tryst with love
Chiaroscuro of skies
Emblazoned with guns
One country, now two
Two countries, Not one
In a search for a border less world
Vainglorious are the impediments
INDIA my beloved, what ails you

Ananya S Guha lives in Shillong in North East India, where he was born and brought up. He has been writing and publishing his poetry for the last forty years.
