Boomerang

Who cares if it was stolen
or not.
Maybe this is all that we deserve.
Foucault’s boomerang,
and all that we’ve done,
finally
come back around.
We’ve trampled this world,
   breaking it
   to our benefit.
Countries, economies,
Families, homes,
Battered and broken.
Yet we’re still here struggling
   in spite of it.
We’ve been the bully,
   now it’s come back around.
With American boots,
   on American ground.
