Blood of the Poor

There is a craving
for the blood of the poor,
a taste for a violent war
right here at home,
and no billionaire
or politician will ever
step up to start a peace process
for this war,
because it is their tongues
that crave the blood,
and there is no money to be made
on making peace
with the poor.
