The Union Label

The politician’s underwear
is like an advisor;
it helps to keep
the naked facts
from the people.
In the South,
it needs a special powder.
It pinches and binds
in industrial cities and states.
In California,
it never feels comfortable.
After a long campaign,
a thorough washing
removes any telltale
transgressions.
