I’ve attended their purloining schools
That claim to know the way to glory.
I’ve listened to all of the lies,
I hear them tell the same worn out story
While they ignore the proletariat's cries.
We are told success is still possible,
Yet the whole country has been sold out!
Our productive capability and our individualism is the great crucible,
They’ve now mortgaged all of our hard won clout.
They hire captains and chiefs based on who they know.
In the light of incompetence another is brought in
To clandestinely run the show,
While the incompetents are paid well to sit around,
Smile and grin.
Why not?
The people subsidize the money the filchers sow!
So
Prosperity flickers and wanes,
While the people only stumble and fall,
Because the thieves purloin every gain!
When shall the forces of nature heed the call?
Nowhere is worth it to remain for long,
Nothing is truly worthwhile to do or have,
I live to sing my next victory song,
Yet ‘tis hard to live on a salary that has been halved.
I’m to a point that I am tired of trying,
Sick of living to pay these incessant bills,
The people surrounding me are with hands out crying;
Come Monday morning I am numb with unsettling chills.
One day everything shall reach its final end.
No more searching,
No more pain,
No more necessity,
No more desire to gain,
No more money I need to spend;
Yet maybe my words shall endure infinity.
