Uncommitted

pretending to be edible
the nasturtiums are bloom

on the ballet headed to its box
I check “uncommitted”

if things were up to me
this hood would be a peaceable kingdom

I wouldn’t curse the red ants
or the half dead oak tree

at least this is what
I like to tell myself
