From childhood plucked,
poured pensive pollen
awaiting winged collectors
burdens to absorb.
Imagined solitude averred,
waving stacks and petals.
Returning to dark, moist earth
Grandfather‘s garden worth

Wei Santang is a scholar born and educated in the Far West in the second half of the 20th century.
