About my political
View? The answer
May surprise you.
In actuality I loath
Politics. It makes
Me sick. However,
As a poet I have a
Responsibility to be
True to myself and
To you as well, also
To my native land
Struggling for help
Sinking in quicksand;
Desperately in need
Of wisdom, guidance
And objectivity amid
These troubled times
Of violent insurrection
Posing as patriotism
By blind revolutionists
Opposing institutions
Which have truly stood
The stormy test of time;
Now in all actuality with
Democracy on the line.
