Mr. Trinity

He was a complicated
Man sporting a Stetson
Fedora, his trademark
Hat, with piercing steel-
Blue eyes, cold, as he
Quotes from both the
Bhagavad Gita and John

Donne; feeling pleasure
And extreme anguish at
Unleashing the greatest
Power mankind has ever
Known upon innocence
In this fair planet Earth;

A scientific intellectual,
An introverted wounded
Child, a misfit, a genius
Who very rarely smiled;
Discovering the keys to
The universe or perhaps
The hidden pathway to

Annihilation through text,
Antiquated verse, and of
The power of persuasion.
I come with brutality, with
Hope of saving humanity
Amid a mushroom cloud;

“Now I am become death,
The destroyer of worlds.”
