Energy matured

(for RV-C)

Bottles young (in Epernay)

Brilliant bubbles burst
between the banks
of wine-bearing rivers
Like cats’ tread gently
as if on silken feet
Purring round ankles
when friends they meet.
Both bottles young
With barrels old
in cellars deep
Effervescent riddles hold
Spiders all their stories spin
Catching flies
before they sleep
Corks unbound
Fear not the worst
Wine that shivers
Slakes the thirst.
