New Fields of Glory

Everybody knows
So much
That it’s painful
In the grips
Of a new reckoning
Wild pig hunting
With sub-machine guns
The noise
Of destruction
Quieted only
By the jelly of the brain
Anything
To bend the spine
To mush
Turning everything
Into what ails us
Riding too far
Beyond the dream
Toward new fields
Of vacant glory
