My shoes

I only had a pair of shoes worthy to be mentioned here;
they were “the good ones”

A Sunday kind of thing, you’d say,
they took me farer than my imagination
across lands and seas

– they even walked me on water –

I wonder what would Jesus think
if he counted my steps;
maybe, that I had faith in humans
