Oh

Do you remember
Back in 2014
The massive protests
All across our nation
When fascist-friendly militants
In the Ukraine
Overthrew
The legally-elected government
With the full backing
Of gang U.S.A.?
You don’t? Oh.

Well, do you recall
In that same year
All the people
Out in the streets of America
To decry the atrocity
Of a neo-Nazi battalion
In Odessa
Trapping Russian-speaking protestors
Inside a trade union building
Then lighting the building on fire
And burning all the protestors
To death?
Doesn’t ring a bell? Oh.

Surely you recollect
The outraged editorials
The Congressional speeches
The State Department white papers
And the stirring pronouncements
From the Executive Branch
Condemning Ukraine’s repeated refusal
To implement the Minsk accords
And to cease
Its almost daily bombings
Of the largely Russian-speaking Donbas.
Not familiar? Oh.

How about all those sit-ins
And lockdowns
At the Pentagon
And the White House
To demand that the U.S.
And NATO
Remove their nuclear missiles
And other armaments
Provocatively perched
On Russia’s front porch?
Can’t seem to call them to mind? Oh.
I see.
