New Beginning
by Pranab Ghosh / February 6th, 2022
The rolling waves
The flowing breeze
The dream to ride
On the waves
To float with
The breeze
To touch the new dawn
To relish the new hope
Of surviving all odds
And coming up trumps…
Layers of bricks coming
Up around a forgotten
Time… Oh! Annar!
Vanishing love
Vanishing relationship
Vanishing men and women
Let life take root
Let men and women
Script new history
Let there be a new beginning!
• Author’s Note: Annarkali, in short Annar. was the ladylove of the Mughal prince Selim alias Jehangir, the son of the fabled king Akbar the great. As par anecdotes Annar, a lady of common origin, was not allowed to unite with prince Selim. She was buried alive! However, some researchers claim that her tomb had a tunnel through which she exited and disappeared from the prince’s life!
