Once the Dust Has Settled
by Kenneth Vincent Walker / November 15th, 2020
From crudités
To coup d’état,
Oh America your
Tongue is swollen.
Will hate I wonder,
Violence, hunger, go
To that Shambhala,
Kumbaya moment?
Fear and loathing in
Stunned foreboding
Adding corruption to
Your toxic torment.
‘Tis love and laughter
What we’re all after
Once the dust has
Settled upon our
Dystopian doormat.
