In Places Unseen

Darkness guides them
in their secret caverns.
Intrigue and the weaving
of stories never unfolding.
Power unimaginable.

In the sky of reflection
we wait and watch.
Our children hear the screams
of their brothers and sisters,
hearts filled with hatred and despair.

Of war once again
in places unseen
where life is not ours
but belonging to none.
The sands of time shifting.

What shall we reap
from this crop?
Weather dried wheat.
Its chaff given, its gift taken.
Without gratitude for its birth.
