“An ounce of prevention
Is worth a pound of cure.”
As the death toll rises we
Are paralyzed with fear.

Fear that this outbreak will
Out weather every tear, and
Lead us into damnation.
Our prospects obscure.

The pandemic of a lifetime
For a generation austere,
As our anemic economy
Limps onward to oblivion.

Darkness has befallen us
To a catastrophic obsidian.
For we were the remnants,
Clearly the last generation

In this twin and final year.
