Cardboard King

All hail and rise for
The Cardboard King.
Dance, bow, and sing
Before his lofty throne,

But mind what you say.
Do not criticize a thing,
Or surely you’ll swing
From the gallow’s pole.

All flail in praise of
The Cardboard King.
Lay your offerings down
To save your mortal soul.

This thin-skinned, self-
Absorbed neophyte will
Encounter his kryptonite
On that day of reckoning,

Like a thief in the night.
